Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a charity event held during November each year.

We challenge you to change the face of men's health - donate to Movember in Chicago Today!

At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their Mo (Australian slang for moustache), raising money and awareness along the way for men's health and the fight against prostate cancer.

Movember culminates at the end of the month at the Gala Partés. These glamorous and groomed events will see Tom Selleck, Hulk Hogan and Borat look-a-likes battle it out for their chance to take home the prestigious Man of Movember title.

While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (women who support their guys or just love Mo's!) form an important part of Movember by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds and attending the highly anticipated Gala Partés.

But it's not all fun and games, so why the extreme behavior?

Whichever way we look at it, men are far less healthy than women. The average life expectancy for men is many years less than that of women; seven years less for African American men and five years less for Caucasian men.

Menlack awareness about the very real health issues they face. Many feel they have to be tough - “a real man” - and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or to go for regular medical check ups.

The aim of Movember is to change these attitudes and make men's health fun by putting the Mo back on the face of American men while raising some serious funds for the number one men's health issue, prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year.

Movember is very proud to be teaming with the Prostate Cancer Foundation in the US.

All donations made will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, which will use the funds for high-impact research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Iraq — bear the psychic scars of war. They have tried other therapies before but here, under the watchful eye

of Mithoefer and his staff, they're trying something new — MDMA,

better known as ecstasy, a drug that if bought on a street corner would

land these patients in jail.

The results of the Mithoefer study — the first Food and Drug

Administration-approved Phase 2 trial of MDMA to treat post-traumatic

stress — will not be known until it concludes later this month. But

the treatment already shows promise, the doctor says…”

All's I got to say is: I knew it! I mean, not from personal experience or anything but… I had a hunch. The important thing to emphasize is its MDMA that's helping post-traumatic stress victims and not pressed tabs of “E”- that's a very important distinction.

So, I guess I should finally come clean and let my doctor diagnose me with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Seriously, I never wanted to cause a stir before but now that they think they've found treatment, I should dedicate myself to medical science and progress and let them test on me.

Utah and Alabama Now Have 4-Day Work Week

Carolyn Dennis, mother of a 5-year-old, initially wasn't too keen on Utah's decision to move her to a four-day workweek… Dennis and 17,000 other state employees this month began working 10-hour days per week rather than five eight-hour days…. Utah is betting that the millions of dollars it hopes to save on energy bills by closing some state buildings on Fridays will outweigh the adjustments that workers and service seekers will have to make…. In a one-year experiment, the state moved most of its employees — those working in non-emergency services — to the four-day week August 4. By closing 1,000 state buildings an extra day per week, it hopes to save about $3 million in utility costs during the trial. It also hopes employees will save on fuel costs by driving to work one less day per week.
