\"Hallelujah! What\'s Right with the World!\"
Like many ministries, H!WRWTW! has evolved. It has become a series of Outreach opportunities under \"H2Oh! You Are Living Water!\" - and it has been a busy year!
H2Oh! Reaching Across Town took place on March 27th. NCCC volunteers cooked, cleaned, painted and planted at the City Rescue Mission, provided lunches at The Refuge, and handed out lunches and water to individuals living on the street in downtown OKC.
On August 14th, H2Oh! Reaching Our Community helped our community children with back-to-school backpacks, school supplies, a quick medical check and a hot lunch.
Our denomination (Disciples of Christ) sponsors a downtown church with OKC\'s homeless - Refuge Fellowship Church. It meets on Monday evenings in the downtown library. We met with them on September 13th, providing a hot meal to the participants and helping Pastor Noel with the service. It was such a meaningful experience for the volunteers that we plan to join \"the rotation\" of churches helping in this way and meet with them quarterly.
H2Oh! plans continue into 2011 and beyond. And, all because we were told to love our neighbor and be doers of the word, not just hearers. Thanks for being such good listeners! H2Oh! You are Living Water!

Tag, You\'re It!
Paul says we run a race every day, a good race. I think of it as a relay stretching over 2000 years. When it is our turn, we pick up the baton and carry it until it is time for the next person to join us. And, it is our turn now--exciting, really!
Our next segment in our continuing race is on Saturday, August 14th, and it is happening from 10:00-2:00 at NCCC. We are reaching out to our immediate community with \"Back-to-School\" backpacks, supplies, haircuts, and a clothing exchange--we\'re even trying to organize a very basic health check.
Mark your calendars now, and look to this website, the church newsletters, bulletins, and emails for more information on where you fit in. The information is all coming in July--in the meantime, if you have questions, please contact Debbie Keith in the church office!

Saturday, March 27th:
What a day!
Thank you to everyone who participated!
Fifty-one volunteers at the City Rescue Mission did \"hands-on\" projects (from cooking to painting to flower beds to art with the children), children\'s comforters and after-school snacks were donated to the CRM, and sack lunches and bottled water were given out at the Refuge across the street, as well as to those on the street!
Let me re-phrase that, \"What a GREAT day!\"

Our 2010 Mission to The City Rescue Mission
and downtown OKC\'s homeless begins at
9:00am in the Fellowship Hall
on Saturday, March 27th.
One drop of water isn\'t much, but bind many together
and they become a force of nature!
Sometimes it is easy to say, \"I am just one person,\" and think one person really can\'t do much to change the world. And, true, by ourselves we might be just one person, but adding two or more makes a difference and, in larger numbers, what we are capable of doing is truly incredible! Changing the world? That is a possibility -- one thing, one person, one mission at a time.
We\'ll unite to assemble sack lunches at NCCC to be delivered downtown, as well as go to the City Rescue Mission to volunteer to do such items as prepare lunch, clean the premises, work in the warehouse, or help with an art project with the children. Obviously, we need workers both places - and, regardless of your physical capabilities, there is a spot for you.
This all-church outreach event is offered through the Ministry of Outreach and the NCCC Stephen Ministry. More details are available in the March NCCC newsletters and bulletin inserts on March 7th, 14th, and 21st. Questions? Servanthood is simple, really--a state of grace-filled response to all that was sacrificed for our sake. One definition is found in Basin Theology:
After condemning Christ, Pilate called for a basin and washed his hands of any guilt. When Jesus called for a basin, it was to wash His disciples\' feet.
