Great Lakes Book Award

Just a note to let you all know that Ellen Baker's Keeping The House has been designated the 2008 fiction winner for the Great Lakes Book Awards. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds like a good one. Congrats to Ms. Baker!
Too, I want to thanks the folks at Bowling Green State University for making me feel welcome when I read there last week. A great bunch of people and a fine writing program!

Eric Shade & Eyesores

Would Eric Shade, the author of the brilliant story collection, Eyesores (a Flannery O'Connor winner), please contact me? I'm sorry, man, but I lost your email address in a computer meltdown a couple months ago, and I have no way of getting in touch with you. Please, if you know Eric, let him know that I'd like for him to contact me.
In other news, Editions Buchet Chastel in France just bought rights to Knockemstiff.
I'll be reading at Bowling Green State University on August 28 at Prout Chapel.
And my book has been nominated in the fiction category for the Great Lakes Book Award, along with three other books, all kickass novels.
And I'll also be reading at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) on September 18.
