Waived: am i the only one that would put in a claim for anthony stewart

Stewart is a huge upgrade over Hamill, who looked good right after his call up but has exposed as a player who needs more strength and hockey sense to have any hope of being a regular NHL. He gets knocked off the puck way to easily, can't compete for loose pucks and doesn't appear to have the drive or determination to succeed.

Your looking at the 13th or 14th forward on the team and Stewart is better than anybody in Providence, I would claim him. If they make a major trade later this month you simply put him back on waivers and maybe he goes to Providence that can use all the help it can get.

Not trying to paint a fanbase with a broad brush...but in my experience, Sabres fans in the Garden are probably the worst.

It seems to be proportional to the number of teams a fanbase has to root for among the 4 major sports (with Yankee fans being the exception that proves the rule ).

Bruins PP Units - Peverly on Point - Really?
Before Peverley was put on the point, our PP was bottom third in the league. After, they've been around 10th. They may in fact be slowing down lately (they could miss Horton, and Corvo was really struggling there through most of January as well), but Peverley's been a breath of fresh air back there IMO. He brings the puck up with speed, he can carry it all the way if he has to, he moves the puck quickly and adds pace to the PP. He doesn't just look for Z either IMO. He'll walk in and shoot his wrester low stick side, and he also looks for that righty on the left half wall across the box. When he started playing on the point, he was on the unit with Seguin and they connected for a few one-timers from there. Now that guy is Krejci and that's not really Krejci's shot. It was a good spot for Horton, and sometimes he and Krech would rotate so that Horton could set up for the pass, but obviously with him out and Pouliot in (LHS), that play doesn't work.

I like this whole post, but the bolded part is full of win. I think sometimes we forget just how retarded our entries were last year. We were as close to a 1 trick pony in that area as you can get.

It was painful to watch the hard around play fail so often. If we couldn't at least stop the puck from moving for a half second somewhere around the half boards, we were playing fetch. Not all on the defensemen cuz you expect your forwards to win those battles (especially being up a man), but when that's basically your go to move, it gets harder and harder to execute after a while.

We even resorted to putting Rex back there for stretches, just so we had somebody who didn't poop their pants and hack the puck in if they actually had to lug the puck up past center. Not a knock on Rex, but he wasn't capable of QB'ing the PP at that point in his career, so he was basically back there to fix 1 problem while simultaneously creating a few others. I think it just shows how absolutely desperate the B's got to fix the problem with our entries last year.

Looks like we're more versatile in that area this year, and minimized that issue with Pevs back there. Now everybody has to figure out how to play off him in the offensive zone to work those seems open a little more consistently.

Whether he's at the point or on the half wall, it's pretty clear that he's the QB now. Good choice imo. He's a great playmaker, he's ridiculously mobile, and navigates the offensive zone almost effortlessly, and he'll shoot if the box snoozes on em. That's what we're looking for, yes?

NHL.com Early Draft Predicts(Boston's Pick!!)

I also don't think the Bruins will have a first round pick this year but if they do I don't believe they would take a goalie in the first round. He would be a back up to Rask when he is ready and I wouldn't use a first round pick on a back up.

I just simply cannot stand any other sport besides hockey. I've tried to keep an open mind to all of them, but I can't do it. Baseball puts me to sleep and I've never been able to watch more than a couple innings. I probably couldn't even name more than 3 players on the Sox. Football is boring unless the team likes to pass frequently. I once got free tickets to a celtics game and spent half the game walking around the garden looking at Bruins stuff from the pro shops.

The only other "sport" I can tolerate is UFC.

Clearly unlike some people with short memories on here, I'm one of very few that still holds those Satan moments close to heart. He did FAR more for us than most people realize.

Couldn't appreciate that guy more. I'd have zero problem if somehow we all of a sudden landed him as a speculative add to the roster (only to replace Caron/Hamill) for the rest of the year.

It's possible to greatly appreciate what Satan did and not want him back. He's playing well in Bratislava. That doesn't mean he can step into the NHL and contribute; if he was capable, he'd at the very least be playing in the KHL. That he couldn't stick in Russia tells you he's not going to make it here.

I love Miro and I'll cherish the memories. I also love Recchi, but I wouldn't want him back either. Time to move on.
