Is there a buzz again in this once proud hockey city?

i think the new fenway commercial is a testament to how the team IS gaining popularity. nesn probably realized that the bruins could possibly be the "IN-thing" this year and theyre hitting the market with the image. theyre trying to pull in the sox crowd, which everybody knows is about 99% of the city (count me out).

i think there is more than just buzz right now, im sure there will be legitimate interest in hockey this year. if nesn pushes hockey, and presents it well, i think other media outlets will follow suit. for the first time in several years i am legitimately concerned about getting cheap seats for certain games.

whoever thought up the nesn commercials in the other thread needs to seriously pitch those to the network somehow. i think it would be hilarious, and would certainly pull in some more audience.

season needs to start, now.

You're right, I just called him to confirm and he said no it was "Chumura", the trainer....he sent me a text saying "Chumura is here to" and figured it was a typo bc he was busy at work/excited...My bad!
Still not to shabby though!

Would you trade Mark Stuart for more of a 'puck-mover'?

I think this camp could be Lashoff's make or break with the Bruins organization. I know he's still only 21(turns 22 next month), but my guess is that if he can't establish himself during camp as a puck mover who can play in the top 4 in Boston, then it kind of forces Chiarelli's hand in looking to deal for a guy that can. I do feel that Lashoff can be our guy and wouldn't mind seeing him paired with Chara, Ward or Stuart to give him some defensive help but also a veteran with a calming presence.

Maybe pairings like:
Chara-Wideman
Lashoff-Stuart/Ward
Ference/Alberts-Ward/Stuart

I also think Stuart establishes himself in Ward's role, skating more minutes which in turn can hopefully keep Ward healthy as well.

Obviously, if Lashoff does make the team out of camp, I'm guessing Ference or Alberts gets moved and Hnidy is kept as the 7th d-man since he has the least trade value of the 3. I do think you could even limit his (Lashoff's) time and play him as the 3rd pairing with him on the 2nd PP unit. I just hated seeing Ference or Ward out there last year simply because there wasn't another offensive option for the powerplay.

So here's to Matty coming to camp and making the team and making Play Maker's thread about having to trade a gem like Stuart irrelevant!

Favorite all time Bruins game

2008 first round Game 6 vs Montreal. I decided to go the game at the last minute, me and my friend decided to buy two single tickets on opposite sides of the Garden and I am so glad I decided becuase I really would have been kicking myself had I decideed not to go. I still watch that game 6 almost everyday. Also game 3 (Savards ot winner) was pretty awesome as well but game 6 was unreal. That game probably is the best sporting event I have ever gone to. Being only 21 I don't have much of a selection to choose from but I have still been able to see my fair share of exciting games.

I believe he was the last guy sent back to junior last year (of course Lucic was kept), and I think he outlasted everyone that was sent to providence (excluding krejci who made the team out of camp, but required more seasoning in providence).

Logic would dictate he would be better this year, but so is the competition. I'd like to see him make it. From what I hear he plays hard, and doesn't make many friends on opposing teams.

Thompson was the last cut, should be a great camp this year
